This report is often undertaken prior to property purchase or prior to commencement of design and provides arboricultural information indicating which trees are suitable for retention and indicative TPZs to guide design layout and ensure that trees selected for retention are provided with adequate space.
This report is prepared once the final design layout is complete and includes review of architectural, services and landscape plans.
The report will identify trees to be removed, retained or transplanted and include identification of possible impacts on trees to be retained, recommending design and construction methodology and tree protection measures proposed to minimize impacts on retained trees.
A Tree Management & Protection Plan (TMPP) is a plan and specification created in both PDF and DWG formats, showing tree location, proposed retention status, TPZ, SRZ, incursion areas and proposed tree protection measures.
A TRAQ level 2 Tree Risk Assessment is carried out from the ground and includes a 360-degree visual evaluation of a tree where the crown, trunk, root flare, above-ground roots, and site conditions are evaluated with regard to specific targets. It also may involve the use of simple tools (probe, inclinometer mallet, etc.). The report may make recommendations for further advanced testing, risk mitigation strategies including remedial pruning specifications, creation of exclusion zones or tree removal.
The Project Arborist is responsible for ensuring that the conditions of consent regarding tree protection are satisfied. Works may include identification of trees for removal or retention, periodic tree monitoring and condition reports, certification of Tree Protection Measures, Supervision, direction and certification of approved works within TPZ areas and liaison with client and Council where variations occur to ensure a streamlined development process.
Tree Survey: A Visual Tree Assessment and TRAQ Level 1 Tree Risk Assessment is carried out for each tree with findings tabulated into an inventory with recommendations provided for tree pruning or removal. Note that a TRAQ Level 1 Tree Risk Assessment is a limited inspection carried out from the ground to identify high and extreme risk trees and major defects only.
Master Planning: Includes identification of opportunities for street and park tree planting and provision of a report and plan detailing a palette of specific street tree species that are suited to the project's specific environment.
